'Toy Story 3' concludes Cinema by the Surf film series Aug. 11
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and the City of Rehoboth Beach conclude 2011's Cinema by the Surf film series with a screening of "Toy Story 3" at dusk, Thursday, Aug. 11, at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand.
USA Today's Claudia Puig said, '"Toy Story 3' is everything a movie should be: hilarious, touching, exciting and clever." The third film in the "Toy Story" series begins with aging toy owner Andy preparing to depart for college. This means that the future of his loyal toys, led by pals Woody and Buzz, is uncertain. Andy packs his toys to be stored in the attic, but instead, they are accidentally sent to a day care. Feeling abandoned by Andy, his toys soon view the day care as a paradise, where they meet other seemingly friendly toys who assure them that they will be played with by loving children. But the gang soon learns that the untamed tots at the day care are anything but loving. Woody and friends soon wish to escape, but the resident toys are determined to prevent the newcomers from running away. Woody's pals give up hope and resign themselves to their fate. Woody must convince them that they were not abandoned, and that they should return home. Accomplishing a great escape from the prison-like day care will not be easy, and it will take teamwork from the whole gang to make the breakout a success.
