Stop Hudson-Hughes Highway proposal nw

July 13, 2018

The following letter was sent to Ernie Lopez, R-Lewes, Steve Smyk, R-Milton, and Sussex county Councilman IG Burton and sent to the Cape Gazette for publication..

We do not support the proposed Hudson-Hughes Highway! When we purchased our home adjacent to the railroad right-of-way, we were aware a train would be going past on a regular occasional basis. We looked forward to watching the train move slowly down the tracks. We were also in favor of the “trail with rail” proposal.

Having a bike trail adjacent to our property would be an asset for the area. We are not in favor of the proposed highway! A highway so close to so many homes would not be an asset to any of the homeowners in the area.

Please do whatever is possible to stop this highway now!
