CHHS students to see ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ on Broadway

The Page to the Stage
September 2, 2018

On Aug. 27, four organizations in the Cape community generously contributed $1,000 each for 50 Cape Henlopen High School students to see the Broadway play “To Kill A Mockingbird” in New York City Dec. 5.

Donating sponsors include the Rehoboth Beach Village Improvement Association, Big Fish Charitable Foundation, Cape Henlopen Education Foundation and the Carl M. Freeman Foundation.

CHHS English teachers and chaperones will bring these students to see the novel they studied in class come to life on the professional stage. The students invited to participate will be based on classroom performance, growth goals, and emotional or financial need.

The ultimate goal is to make this trip cost-free for the students, so more donations are needed in order to make this opportunity a reality. Email eileen.springfield@cape.k12.de.usi to contribute.
