Caswell gets go-ahead to demolish Bradley buildings
The former BayBees Pediatrics offices of convicted rapist Earl Bradley are set to come down.
Millsboro contractor Harry Caswell said he has been given the go-ahead to demolish everything on the property starting at 7 a.m., Monday, Oct. 10. Everything on the property will be destroyed, he said: the four buildings and the vehicles that used to sit in front of the property.
“We don’t want anything on the property to end up in someone’s hands,” Caswell said.
Caswell volunteered to remove the buildings, which were a painful reminder of abuse to hundreds of local children and their families.
Realtor Bruce Geyer bought the property from Fulton Bank after the bank foreclosed. Geyer vowed to raze the buildings as soon as possible.
Bradley was originally charged with abusing scores of his child patients. He was convicted June 23, 2011, of 24 counts of rape, assault and sexual exploitation of 86 children and sentenced Aug. 26 to 14 life sentences and 164 years in prison. Bradley’s attorneys appealed the conviction to Delaware Supreme Court Sept. 2.
