Jorge Melendez Claudio, a spiritual man

Jorge Melendez Claudio, 56, went home to be with the lord Friday, Nov. 2, 2018. He was born Jan. 22, 1962, in Puerto Rico to parents Oscar Melendez and Concepcion Claudio.

Jorge is survived by his mother, Concepcion Claudio; stepfather Arturo Burgos; daughter Michelle Melendez; three grandchildren: Joshua Vega, Dasity Vega and Milenny Valentin; and five brothers, Oscar Melendez and his wife Abigail Vega, Hipolito Melendez and his wife Hellen Melendez, Lino Melendez and Brenda Rivera, Pedro Burgos and Nancy Rivera, and Antonio Burgos and Madelin Martinez. He is further survived and loved by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. 

Jorge was a spiritual man with an unwavering faith in his lord savior. He would greet friends with a firm handshake, and family with a big hug. His energy and genuine compassion toward others could light up a room. He enjoyed home-cooked meals, riding fast on his motorcycle, and spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Nov. 10, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon for visitation.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
