Letter: Don't forget southeastern Sussex growth

January 11, 2019

Your recent article on Sussex development is based on the fine reporting; however, it is important to note that this list of development is not complete for Sussex County. The Cape Gazette chose to only research for Lewes, Rehoboth, Milton areas, with a few big Georgetown projects.

Although these limits are disclosed in the initial article by Mr. MacArthur, using the term “Sussex County” and “Cape Region” in the subsequent editorial based on the article without including these limits could be misleading.

Could we please have a comprehensive look at all Sussex County development and more coverage on the filling in of flood plains and the explosive development in Bethany, Fenwick and southeastern Sussex?

Then, readers will have a clearer picture of what is happening throughout all of Sussex County’s Cape Region as we continue to fill in flood plains and put people and property in harms’ way of future storms, while clogging evacuation routes with horrific traffic.
