Hot Steam Carpet Clean initiates national expansion
Sussex County’s Hot Steam Carpet Clean is excited to announce that it is beginning national expansion in 2019.
“Hot Steam was born in Sussex County, grew up here, and will always be a local company,” said owner Mike Dunmyer. “Now, we’re taking what we’ve learned at home and competing nationally.”
As part of the expansion, Hot Steam is changing its name to Advanced Degree Carpet Cleaning. Dunmyer said, “We’ve always differentiated ourselves through exceptional expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering the best results possible. We believe the name Advanced Degree Carpet Cleaning does a better job sending that message to people who may not know us.”
The growth plan will utilize two channels. Dunmyer will continue to own and operate the local company, along with any branches eventually placed in Wilmington, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. First, however, the company will begin awarding franchises to operate its business model outside the home region.
This growth has created well-earned opportunities for long-term employees. Casey Jensen, the first employee hired, was promoted to office manager in August and will continue in that role as the primary customer point of contact. Senior Technician Scott Donovan has been promoted to vice president of operations and is managing all cleaning technicians. As before, they report to Dunmyer, who will also build a team to sell and support franchises in other markets.
Expansion places a premium on delivering consistent excellence back home. “Our promise has always been that we’ll do everything necessary to elevate everything we clean to its best possible condition,” said Dunmyer. “We’re intensely focused on continuing to fulfill that promise.”
Toward that end, the company has enhanced its rigorous training curriculum and added internal testing requirements for each level. Following up with all customers to ensure that each one is 100 percent satisfied, and getting all technicians industry certified will remain company standards.
