Winter Indoor League Update

 

Elementary Division

 

In the final day of pool play the Cardinals overcame the Eagles for a 1-0 victory. Nina Schrader got the winning goal for the Cardinals. The Eagles managed to hold onto the #1 seed for the playoffs while the Cardinals will be the #3 seed. In the second game, The Skins defeated the Ravens 1-0 with the winning goal by Mady Lehman for the Skins. The Skins will be the #2 seed while the Ravens are the #4 seed.

The first game in the semi-finals will be at 2:30 on Sunday, February 24th with the Eagles vs the Ravens and the second semi-final game will be at 3:00 between the Skins and the Cardinals. The winning teams will then play for the championship at 4:00. All games are in the gym at Milton Elementary School.

Goalies for all the games are Blair Chubb and Alayna Martinez.

 

Senior Division

 

The opening game of the playoffs in the senior division saw Coker defeat Queens by a final of 2-0, with Grace Wiggins and Chloe Wood scoring the goals for Coker. Goalies for the game were Regan Best and Myla Smith. In the second quarterfinal game, Eastern earned the win with a late game goal by Sommer Dorman to defeat Ithaca by a final of 1-0. Best and Smith again were the goalies in the game.

In the semi-final game, the #1 seeded team, Roanoke, defeated Coker by a final of 8-0. Hannah Maney (5) and Maddie Long (3) provided the firepower in the game for Roanoke. Goalies in the game were Allyson Clark and Mycah Smith. The second semi-final game was a very close battle between Vassar and Eastern. Vassar ended up with the 3-2 win. Vassar goals were by Madeline Pepper (2) and Maci Long. Avary Miller and Sommer Dorman had the goals for Eastern. Elie Cerchio and Mycah Smith provided the goal keeping effort for the game.

 

Roanoke will play Vassar at 3:30 on Sunday, February 24th in the gym at Milton Elementary School for the senior division championship. Goalies are slated to be Elie Cerchio and Allyson Clark.
