Milton Historical Society volunteer training to begin March 16

March 13, 2019

The Milton Historical Society is seeking area residents to serve as museum volunteers at its Lydia Black Cannon Museum in historic downtown Milton. A four-session training class is offered each spring. Volunteer classes will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturdays, March 16, March 30, April 13 and April 27 at the museum.

Volunteering for the historical society is a great way to learn about the history of Milton and meet others who share similar interests. This important volunteer position is for friendly individuals who love meeting new people, and learning and sharing new information.

As hosts and guides, volunteers make an important contribution to the vitality of the museum. Without volunteers, the museum could not be open on a regularly scheduled basis. The museum is often the first stop for visitors to Milton, so volunteers may also help them discover many other area attractions.

After completing the interactive  training, volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of four hours per month between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and at least four hours per quarter throughout the year.

For more information, go to www.historicmilton.org, and to sign up for training, call 302-684-1010 or email visit@historicmilton.org.
