Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary awards $7K to local scholars

The Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary Club recently awarded over $7,000 in scholarships to six Lewes area students from Cape Henlopen High School and the Margaret Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare.
Three $1,000 scholarships were granted to Kelsi Warrington, Lexi Leskovac and Megan Kelly, all second-year nursing students at Beebe Healthcares’s Margaret Rollins School of Nursing.
Senior Cape Henlopen High School scholars took home nearly $5,000 in college scholarships or stipends. Isabella Leishear was granted a $4,000 scholarship to pursue higher education, while Stephanie Philcox and Vienna Iacona were awarded stipends of $500 and $250 respectively.
Over the years, the Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary Club has granted over $100,000 in scholarships to deserving local students pursuing higher education. All of the education grants were awarded from the Eschenbach, Moore and Gallery Memorial Scholarship Fund, a special account established in memory of three former Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary Club members by their family and friends.
Rotary's mission is to make the greater Lewes community a better place to live, work, go to school and raise a family through both service and fundraising projects. The club meets at 5:45 p.m. every Monday evening for dinner. During the summer months most club meetings will be at the Lewes Public Library. Community-spirited individuals are invited to attend.
