Broschard and Geiersbach win Annual Dave Reynolds Biathlon

The 29th annual Dave Reynolds Biathlon took to the Rehoboth Boardwalk June 30, and Xander Geiersbach of Middletown took first place with a time of 32.59. Augie Carlozzi of Wilmington placed second in 33:18, while Kevin Danahy took third overall in 34.13. Gabi Broschard from Hershey, Pa., placed first in the female division with a time of 33.22.

Past winner Kevin Danahy of Rehoboth placed third with a time of 34:13.
Xander Geiersbach led from start to finish. He exited the ocean first.
Gabi Broschard from Hershey, Pa., placed first in the female division with a time of 33.22.
Steve Salata of Devon, Pa., finished 12th overall in 39:21.
Molly Weeks exits the water and places eighth with a time of 43:45.
Rick Cawthern of Lewes finished 19th overall with a time of 40:29.
Jenn Cawthern of Lewes finished second in the female team competition in 38:26.

Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
