July 3, 2019

The Lewes/Rehoboth Major League All-Stars delivered four hits, but they could not get a run home as Laurel secured a 4-0 win July 1 at the Georgetown Little League complex.

Lewes/Rehoboth then fell to Lower Sussex July 2 and was eliminated from the tournament. Laurel and Lower Sussex were set to face off in the championship round beginning July 3.

In the Laurel game, Lewes/Rehoboth started off strong with a double in the first inning by catcher Alivia Heers. They could not get the run in, though, as the Laurel defense held its ground in the field. Lily Hutt, Reilly Fagles-Carey and Macy Steinwedel each had a hit in the game.

Hutt went five innings in the pitching circle, giving up just two hits while striking out six Laurel batters.

Laurel’s Paityn Blake went six innings. She gave up four hits while striking out seven. Keirstan Passwaters and Bailey Ullman got the only hits for Laurel.
