Book signing with Funland co-founder Al Fasnacht set July 10
Al Fasnacht, the senior member of the Fasnacht family that has owned and operated Funland on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk since 1962, will be signing copies of the new book "Land of Fun: The Story of an Old-Fashioned Amusement Park for the Ages," at Funland Wednesday, July 10, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The signing will take place inside Funland, right beside the boats. Copies of the book, a history of the amusement park that was published in May, will be available for purchase for $20.
A previous book signing with Fasnacht, held June 21, drew very long lines of Funland fans interested in having the park co-founder sign the book, which is the top-selling book of local interest this summer at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach.
Fasnacht, who turned 90 in November, still works about five hours a day at Funland, as he handles all the trash and recycling and operates the kiddie rides for two hours a day.
