Items from Delaware Parks Collections at Rehoboth library Aug. 8

August 4, 2019

While many folks local to the area may be quick to boast about how beautiful Delaware’s beaches are, some of the state’s natural resources that cannot be overlooked are its state parks. In an effort to raise awareness about these beautiful landmarks, the Rehoboth Beach Public Library will be hosting a visit from the archives - or special collections - of the Delaware State Parks Thursday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m.

Taking place in the library’s cool and shady breezeway, exclusive and special items from the Delaware State Parks collections will be on display for the general public to examine and observe. Experts and interns from the Delaware State Parks collections will also be on hand to answer questions and help attendees appreciate the significance of these objects.

For those who aren’t able to stop by, an exhibit set up by employees from the Delaware State Parks collections will be on display in the library’s lobby through the month of September. Likewise, should the weather Aug. 8 prove undesirable, the objects will be moved to the library’s upstairs meeting room to be viewed by the public there.

Like many of the programs offered at the Rehoboth Public Library, this event is free and open to the general public. Those with any questions should contact program librarian Tyler Antoine at tyler.antoine@lib.de.us
