This year’s election will be an interesting one in Rehoboth Beach. I am supporting the two candidates that I feel will hold Mayor Paul Kuhns accountable to the many campaign promises that he made two years ago that he has yet to fulfill.
During Mayor Kuhns’ campaign, he made a big deal over transparency and outreach to the 80 percent of property owners who do not reside in the city full time. However Mayor Kuhns’ outreach is no better than former Mayor Sam Cooper’s. He continues with the Cooper style of failing to lead, being afraid to upset the apple cart of the yea-round squeaky-wheel residents who wish to keep Rehoboth Beach in the 1950s vs. doing what is truly right for the City of Rehoboth Beach.
For these reasons, I am supporting Edward Chrzanowski and Gary Glass. Both I believe will offer excellent experience and the ability to hold the current mayor accountable to his election campaign promises of two years ago. If elected, both should be unafraid to go directly to the property owners of Rehoboth Beach for feedback and input as to city governance. No need to get permission from the mayor. Just do it!
