Nature photograph contest entries due Oct. 13

August 18, 2019

The 16th Annual Friends of Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge Nature Photography Contest is accepting entries through Sunday, Oct. 13.

The annual contest showcases some of the finest nature photography on the Delmarva Peninsula and attracts more than 200 entries in several different categories. This year's contest exhibit will open with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20, at the refuge auditorium. Photos can be viewed every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., through Sunday, Dec. 8. There is no admission charge.

The contest is open to all photographers. There are many chances to win awards for photographers of all ages and abilities. Categories include the Beauty of Prime Hook, Native Flowers and Plants, Native Birds, Native Wildlife, Delmarva Scenery, Senior Student and Junior Student.

The show is open to the public and offers amazing photos of some of the most scenic sights and wildest residents of the area. Visitors are asked to vote for their favorite photo, which will receive a People's Choice Award at the conclusion of the show.

The Friends group thanks this year's panel of distinguished photographers who will be judges, as well as the refuge staff and the many volunteers who help make the contest possible each fall.
