NFL kickoff party at Bethany Blues of Lewes Sept. 8

The summer of 2019 has been an electric whirlwind for the restaurant industry as vacationers poured into the beach areas to enjoy all the varied local offerings.

Bethany Blues of Lewes saw another record-breaking season, and as Labor Day approaches, the team is gearing up to wind down just a bit.

“We love our summers and all the buzz,” said Jessica Nathan, director of operations for the Lewes location. “We also love September rolling in and welcoming our locals back. This year we’ve got two events lined up in September to welcome back our locals and get into the fall spirit.”

First up is the NFL Kickoff Tailgate Party at 12 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 8. The party celebrates the start of football season with a showdown between two regional rivals: the Redskins and the Eagles. The 90-inch flat-screen TV will be rolled out for the 1 p.m. kickoff, and the parking lot will be decked out with outdoor grilling, barbecue, games like cornhole and more, and the Bud Light beer truck.

Attendees can enjoy the outdoor fire pit, lots of games on other televisions, and the fabulous mobile cloud video trailer with seven additional televisions, plus on-site gaming, both new and old-school style. Plus, Bud Light is sponsoring a giveaway of two tickets to the Jets/Eagles game at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 6, in Philadelphia. Contestants must be present to win.

No one can match the grandiosity of this tailgate party, so get your football-loving buns to Bethany Blues of Lewes for kickoff, and say goodbye to summer and hello to pigskin season!

At 5 p.m., Tuesday Sept. 17, it will again be time for the biggest customer appreciation party in Lewes: Bluesapalooza. Celebrating all things Bethany Blues and saying a big thank you to its loyal customers, this outdoor party is the official welcome back to locals for the shoulder season.

With live music from Electric Velvet, a photo booth, Sagamore Whiskey tasting, Maker’s Mark wax dipping, Stella Artois glass etching, and more, this is one party that goes all out! Blues rolls out its food trucks to give everyone a sneak peek at the off-season specials, as well as offering a roast-your-own s’mores station, a Fordham and Dominion beer tent, outdoor bar, VIP tent, and raffles and giveaways.

Bluesapalooza is a great place to catch up with friends who might have been missed during the high season, or to make new friends to chill with this winter.
