Phillies fan disappointed with TV coverage

For some strange reason, this year Comcast and the Major League Baseball Network have decided not to broadcast many of the Phillies' spring training games down here in Sussex County, Delaware.

The Phillies have only been broadcast on TV for two games so far, which makes it to really tough to have any idea of how they are doing. This makes no sense to me, since the Phillies organization has some kind of a deal with Comcast and the MLB Network.

You would think this would cause them to have more games to show, not less. As it gets closer to the regular season, I hope this pattern changes for those of us who enjoy seeing baseball on TV and not just stats and highlights on our phones or iPads.

I have to admit I am kind of a lackluster hockey fan. With my disability, I have a tough time following the puck. This is actually when following stats and highlights on my iPad come in handy.

That being said, the Flyers have won seven straight games and are only one point out of first place in their division, with only 16 games left in the regular season. I will definitely be paying attention to them for the rest of season. They haven’t won the Stanley Cup for 45 years, so anything is possible. If the Eagles can win the Super Bowl, the Flyers can win the Stanley Cup.

In local sports, I want to wish good luck to all of the winter sports teams who have made the playoffs. The Cape Henlopen women’s basketball team has a really good chance of winning the state championship this year. They are very capable with their impressive offense, but they will need to use it in a big way to overwhelm other teams. It will be close and a lot of fun to follow.
