Delaware’s COVID-19 cases rise to 368

Delaware's COVID-19 cases rose to 368 on April 1 with 226 positive cases in New Castle County, 41 in Kent County, and 101 in Sussex County.

There have been 11 deaths, and 51 are hospitalized. The most recent death involves an 84-year-old Sussex County man who was hospitalized and had significant underlying health conditions. A March 31 obituary that ran in the Cape Gazette said the Rehoboth Beach man was a Vietnam veteran who was hospitalized in Beebe Healthcare.

In all, 197 females have fallen ill, while 171 males have been diagnosed.

Forty-nine people have fully recovered. The Division of Public Health has posted 4,015 people have tested negative for the disease, but notes that number is preliminary.

Delawareans with general questions about COVID-19 or their exposure risk can call the Division of Public Health’s Coronavirus Call Center at 1-866-408-1899, or 711 for individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
