Lewes resident Florence M. Rhoads celebrated her 100th birthday with family July 3.
Family members came from all over the East Coast for the celebration, including New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and South Carolina. Rhoads’ four daughters, Rae Deitrick, Paula Walter, Sue St. Laurent and Karen Smith, were all able to make it to the gathering.
Rhoads is blind, which can make it difficult for her to picture things. However, the party was still enjoyable and a nice way of bringing the family together.
Rhoads lives in the condos behind Crooked Hammock restaurant and bar, where there is a pool house, so the family decided to have a poolside birthday party.
The party was a loving family celebrating a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
