Coastal Concerts music scholarship applications due Feb. 15

January 10, 2021

Coastal Concerts is accepting applications for its 2021 music scholarship program. The deadline to submit applications is Monday, Feb. 15.

Scholarships are available to young Delmarva Peninsula musicians in middle school and high school. At least one scholarship per year will be available to a Sussex County student.

Coastal Concerts encourages all musically talented students – vocalists, guitarists, percussionists, brass, woodwind, and string players – to apply for one of its scholarships.

Since the introduction of the scholarship program in 2002, 40 students have received awards totaling more than $42,700.

Awards presented include up to $1,500 each for high school students and up to $1,000 each for middle school students.

Students compete only against those in their age group. Selections will be based on both written essay and music performance. The monetary awards can be used for music camps, university courses, or music lessons, and for instrument purchase or repair.

Applications will be evaluated in early to mid-March, and awards will be announced shortly thereafter.
