Troop 95 presents gifts to local essential workers

In December, the Boy Scouts of Troop 95 presented gift baskets to local essential workers including police officers, firefighters and paramedics. 

Each patrol had drawn the name of a group. Scouts wrote Christmas cards to members, thanking them for keeping the community and families safe, especially throughout these very challenging times. Along with the cards of thanks, each patrol presented gift baskets containing cans of peanuts, chocolate candy, packets of hot chocolate, homemade banana nut bread, a large container of Danish cookies, plus apples and oranges for everyone back at their station houses to share. 

The Pedro patrol presented their gift basket to Master Cpl. Andy Manning and Officer Andrew Carpenter with the Delaware Natural Resources Police, while the Nacho Libre patrol made their presentation to Master Cpl. Lewis W. Briggs III, representing Delaware State Police Trooper 2 Aviation Unit.

The Parachuting Cows patrol presented their gift to Supervisor Deanna Loeb with Georgetown Emergency Medical Services Station 93, and the Average Joes patrol presented to Lewis Briggs as community relations officer with Delaware State Police Troop 4.

The Panzer Tank patrol gift basket was presented to representatives of Georgetown Fire Company Station 77 Fire Chief Chip Stevenson and President Michael Briggs; the Viper patrol presentation was to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center. Michael Briggs accepted on behalf of the center representative, who was unable to attend.

The Raven patrol and the Junior Assistant Scoutmaster patrol made presentations to Sussex County Paramedics Shift Commander Jay Shine and Georgetown Police Department Sgt. Matt Barlow and Patrolman Troy Wolford.

The scouts, leaders, committee members and parents of Boy Scout Troop 95 thank all the essential workers in Georgetown and throughout the county and state for all they have done and continue to do keeping families and communities safe.
