Milton Girl Scouts donate $500 cookie proceeds to food pantry
Girl Scout Troop 115 of Milton used more than $500 of its 2021 cookie earnings to purchase food for the Milton Community Food Pantry.
Scouts Fiona Fisher, Gabriella Mansfield, Cora Joseph and McKenzie Russell filled five grocery carts with soups, pasta, canned goods, and proteins including chicken and ground beef.
The scouts delivered the groceries to Goshen Hall, where Milton Community Food Pantry Director Donna Murawski showed them how to sort and catalog all of the donated items.
The donation could not have been possible without the hard work of 15 scouts selling cookies during the cold, wet months of January and February.
Girl Scout Troop 115 members thank all the cookie customers who patronized their booths at Food Lion, Big Fish Grill, Sip, the Fox Hole and the Factory.
Incoming donations of food for MCFP are accepted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sundays, at Goshen Hall, 114 Federal St., along with cash or check donations. The pantry aims to provide three meals a day for three days to supplement a family's food budget.
