McDonald’s owner Michael Meoli to award $6K scholarships

April 22, 2021

Local McDonald’s owner/operator Michael Meoli and the Meoli Companies announced plans to award $6,000 in scholarships to non-traditional community college students pursuing a secondary education at Delaware Technical Community College Terry and Owens campuses, and Chesapeake Community College for summer and fall 2021 students, respectively. Scholarships will be awarded in $500 increments to four students at each campus.

The Meoli Companies support giving back to the communities in which their restaurants operate – the communities in which they, their managers and their crew members work and live.

The scholarship program is open to non-traditional community college students who have demonstrated a commitment to furthering their education by exhibiting scholastic achievement and ongoing community service. They are students returning to college to complete a degree or entering college for the first time some years after graduating high school.

“Education lays the foundation for building a strong community and workforce,” Meoli said. “Our hope is that these scholarships will allow students who might not have otherwise had the opportunity to get the education they deserve.”

Eligible community college students should inquire about the scholarship program through their academic advisor or the office of the president at their respective college.

The Meoli Companies, which now operates 25 McDonald’s restaurants across the Delmarva Peninsula, is dedicated to hiring outstanding people, building and maintaining the best restaurants, and delivering a gold-standard experience for customers. For more information, go to meolicompanies.com.
