Cape High student art to grace new Beebe Healthcare campus

Brogan Conley, Chloe Sylvester photos chosen for Speciality Surgical Hospital

Peaceful scenes captured by Cape High student photographers Brogan Conley and Chloe Sylvester will grace the walls of Beebe Healthcare’s new Specialty Surgical Hospital at the Rehoboth Health campus when it opens in 2022.

In a ceremony May 6, Beebe Healthcare Vice President of Facilities Mark Loukides said this was the first time the healthcare system held an art contest for students.

Many entries were submitted, Loukides said, but Brogan and Chloe’s pieces really stood out; both were very different but also complementary.

Brogan was up early in the day to capture his award-winning photo, Sunrise at Herring Point. Chloe’s entry, Living Lotus, features a delicate pink lotus in full bloom.

Loukides said much research on art has shown how it contributes to a healing environment. A similar campaign was held in 2018 to decorate Beebe’s South Coastal Health Campus, which opened near Millville in May 2020, he said.

Beebe broke ground at the future Specialty Surgical Hospital in May 2019.
