Bethany Beach Books to host author event July 2

Author Shawn Nocher will appear for a meet-and-greet event from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, July 2, at Bethany Beach Books.

Nocher’s compelling debut novel, “A Hand to Hold in Deep Water,” tells the story of Lacey and her stepfather Willy, who are deeply bruised by the mysterious disappearance of Lacey’s mother 30 years ago. Reluctant to uncover their past brimming with unanswered questions, Lacey and Willy must now face a new family crisis as Lacey’s young daughter Tasha falls ill.

Featuring Baltimore, the rural sides of Maryland and a few scenes in North Carolina, this emotional tale unfolds from multiple perspectives and time periods as readers follow Lacey on her journey to get closer to the mother who left when she was a child.
