Garden center to host outdoor floral art exhibit July 21-24

July 12, 2021

In mythology, the Phoenix rises as a symbol of hope and renewal. What better way to celebrate moving forward from these uncertain times than with the beauty of flowers!

In that spirit, the Inland Bays Garden Center will feature floral designer Alison Webb as she creates an outdoor floral art exhibit from Wednesday to Saturday, July 21 to 24, weather permitting.

A member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, Webb will create the exhibit to increase awareness of floral design as an art form. It is part of Phoenix Rising, a national virtual exhibition of floral art coordinated by the American Institute of Floral Designers Foundation.

Webb was inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers in 1985, while working and living in Baltimore. Her last position was as an event designer, planning the florals for weddings and many other events. Upon retirement from the floral industry, she moved to the Delaware/Maryland coast and has transitioned her floral love into plants, particularly natives. She has worked with Inland Bays Garden Center for four years.

Located at 38320 Muddy Neck Road in Frankford, the Inland Bays Garden Center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday.
