The Delmarva Swim Association Championships were held at the Sussex Academy Aquatic Center July 31, and when the ripples subsided, the Mako Swim Club had garnered the Blue Division championship trophy. They totaled 1,825 points in the meet. The Henson Family YMCA team took second with 1,181 points, and Ocean Pines placed third with 1,018.5 points.
The Lewes Yacht Club swim team placed second in the Red Division with 884.50 points, just behind the Onley Skimmers with 1,021 points.
The Wild Quail Krakens won the White Division with 896 points. Rehoboth Beach Country Club team finished fifth with 150 points.

Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
