Loraine E. Scott, dedicated nurse

Loraine E. Scott, 68, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021.  

Loraine was born the daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Elliott) Scott, and graduated from Sussex Central High School.  She also graduated from the University of Delaware and the University of Pennsylvania where she received her master’s in nursing.  She was a very dedicated nurse and had an extensive career in several different hospitals across the East Coast.

She was raised in the Asbury UM Church in Seaford and was a member of Clemmons UM Church in Clemmons, N.C.  Loraine was an avid NASCAR fan, an excellent cook, and liked to do embroidery in her spare time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Scott.

She is survived by her brother, Les Scott and his wife Beverlee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

A graveside service will be held Friday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. at Asbury Cemetery, 26161 Asbury Road, Seaford, DE 19973.  A visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown.
