Zwaanendael Club partners with Edward Jones office to collect school supplies

September 11, 2021

The GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club and Karen Wearden, financial advisor at Edward Jones in Lewes, recently partnered to collect school supplies for the 57 children in the What is Your Voice program.

Donations totaling over 700 items included composition books, binders, crayons, pencils, highlighters, tissues, hand sanitizer, scissors, and loose-leaf paper. Because of the generous contributions of Z Club members and Wearden’s clients, these children were properly outfitted for the first day of school.

Stephanie Williams, an Edward Jones client and retired teacher, said she was donating because she understands the importance of kids having what they need in the classroom in order to be successful.

What is Your Voice is a 501c(3) nonprofit corporation that provides holistic crisis care and intensive aftercare for women and children in Sussex County who are survivors of domestic violence. The GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club is a group of public-spirited women serving and improving the area community.
