Lions Walk for Sight to step off in Dewey Beach Oct. 3
The Delaware Eye Institute of Rehoboth Beach will co-sponsor the Delaware Lions Foundation 17th Annual Walk for Sight at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 3, at the Dewey Beach Lions Clubhouse, 115 McKinley Ave., Dewey Beach. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.
The registration fee of $25 entitles the walker to a Delaware Lions Foundation T-shirt, food and beverages.
Following the walk, there will be a cookout with food provided by the Dewey Beach Lions Club. The Millville Mountain Boys will offer live musical entertainment.
The Delaware Lions Foundation raises funds to help all Lions Clubs in Delaware with grants to fund local club projects that help the financially needy with eye exams, glasses, handicapped ramps, hearing aids and elementary school vision screenings. It holds Christmas parties in each county for individuals who are visually impaired and also provides college scholarships to students from all over Delaware.
