Morris James Lewis, custodial supervisor

Morris James Lewis, 83, of Millsboro, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2012.

Mr. Lewis was born July 21, 1928, in Whaleyville, Md. to the late William I. and Helen Vickers Lewis. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer, Robert, George Thomas and his identical twin, Dale.

Morris retired in 1991 as the supervisor of custodians at the East Millsboro Elementary School after being employed at the school for approximately 24 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He attended the Blackwater Fellowship Church, Frankford. He loved yard work and was known for having a meticulous yard. He also loved working at the school. Morris was a family man and loved attending family functions; he will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Anna Lee Brewington Lewis of Millsboro; a daughter, Connie Lee Gravenor and her husband Charles of Salisbury, Md.; a son, James Eric Lewis of Ocean View; a special daughter he adored, April Wrightson of Wilmington; a sister; Helen Etta Morris of Laurel; and three grandsons, Chad Gravenor, Matthew Lewis and Sean Lewis.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior. Friends may also call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 6,. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. Pastors Rob Welsh and Jennings Williams will officiate.
