Cape High JROTC cadets honored by Lewes City Council

December 19, 2021

During the Lewes City Council monthly meeting Dec. 13, Mayor Ted Becker honored eight Cape High JROTC cadets with certificates of appreciation and medals for their achievements in the national level JROTC Academic and Leadership Bowl held in Washington, D.C., this summer.

The three-day competition consisted of an academic and a leadership phase, based upon SAT and JROTC curriculum knowledge, respectively. The Cape High team competed against 52 other finalists from across the nation and finished in seventh place overall. The Cape team was the only one from the Army ROTC 4th Brigade that encompasses schools from Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina.
