Marcia H. Weglarz, retired administrator
Marcia H. Weglarz, 71, of Lewes, formerly of Bridgeport, Conn., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at her home.
She was born in Bridgeport Feb. 19, 1940, daughter of the late John G. and Helen (Lazusky) Mako Sr. Marcia retired in 1999 as an executive administrator of the Aquarion Hydraulic Company in Connecticut with over 30 years of service.
Mrs. Weglarz was an active member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, where she served as a lector, Eucharistic minister, served on the Pastoral Council and taught religious education classes. Marcia was also a member of the American Heart Association and TOPS. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and working out at the gym.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Weglarz in 1999; two grandsons, Jesse and Justin Pecco; and a brother Dennis Mako. She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Santos and her husband Francisco of Rehoboth Beach, Kathleen Weglarz of Ansonia, Conn. and Lisa Carpenter of Meriden, Conn.; two brothers, John G. Mako Jr. of Lewes and Alan Mako of Stratford, Conn.; four grandchildren, Nicole Weglarz, Jennifer Amedy, Amanda Carpenter and Robert Carpenter; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 20, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church near Five Points, Lewes, where friends and family may call after 10 a.m. Interment will be held privately in Connecticut.
