Frances P. Vogel, enjoyed volunteering

Frances P. Vogel, 79, of Bethany Beach, formerly of Bowie, Md., passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.

Fran was born Feb. 8, 1942, in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Albion Keith Parris and the late Mary Frances (Long) Parris. She had worked as a sales representative for Hershey Chocolate and later in life as a market researcher. 

Fran’s life revolved around her family. She was involved in every one of her children’s activities. Fran was actively involved in the Mother’s Club, Cub Scouts and their local swim club, making sure her children had a fun-filled childhood. 

After her retirement to Bethany Beach, Fran became active in the Bethany West Recreation Association and the Best of the West, a ladies group of the Bethany West development. She enjoyed volunteering and serving others. Fran enjoyed going to the beach and loved dogs, as she always had a dog throughout her life. She was also a strong woman who fought several health issues, from melanoma to arthritis to Parkinson’s Disease. You never heard her complain, as she always pushed through her pain.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Tracy Ford Vogel in 2017. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Arnold S. Vogel; three sons, Skip Vogel of Germantown, Md., Keith Vogel and his wife Susan of La Plata, Md., and Kevin Vogel of Danvers, Mass.; a sister, Emily Parris of South Bethany; and seven grandchildren, Courtney Vogel, Jack Vogel, Patrick Vogel, Keith Vogel Jr. and his wife Erica, Julia Vogel, Jaxson Vogel and Riley Vogel. 

A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. The Mass will also be livestreamed and can be viewed for 48 hours by visiting facebook.com/stannbbInterment will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 16501 Annapolis Road, Bowie, Md. Time and date are pending.
