What would Jesus do?

January 14, 2022

I’d like to thank Sue Claire Harper for her letter last week supporting Conley’s homeless initiative. I live on the same street as Conley’s and I’m all for it.

In fact, if they can get it through, I have every intention of volunteering my time at the church to help any of the people there.

I don’t need to repeat everything Sue Claire said so eloquently, but I ask those who are so vehemently against it, what are you afraid of ... really? And what would Jesus do? I think many of us who say we’re Christians really need to think about what that means and how we can call ourselves one if we’re OK with mothers and children sleeping in cars or in tents when a church like Conley’s offers a solution to at least help them get back on their feet.  Conquer your fear, people.

You might just be rewarded for your good heart and intentions.
