Rehoboth budget meeting is Feb. 18
Rehoboth Beach commissioners will continue discussing the Fiscal Year 2023 budget during a virtual meeting at 9 a.m., Friday, Feb. 18. The city’s budget cycle runs April 1 to March 31. The agenda calls for discussion on the proposed budget and the city’s five-year capital improvement plan.

Dewey commissioners set meeting, hearings
Dewey Beach commissioners will hold a town meeting and public hearings via Zoom at 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18. Public hearings will be held on temporary expansion of premises for Starboard opening weekend, 25th Running of the Bull and Dewey Goes Pink. Another public hearing will be held regarding amendment of town code to provide consistency regarding residential parking requirements. Commissioners may also vote to hire Cohn Reznick as town auditor, to nominate Dave Davis as Volunteer of the Year, to use ARPA funds to purchase a town security system, to complete paving on Dagsworthy Avenue bayside, and to approve the FY 2023 draft budget. Sussex council not meeting Feb. 15
Sussex County Council will not meet Tuesday, Feb. 15. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22.
Lewes planning group sets hearing Feb. 15
The Lewes Planning Commission will hold a virtual public hearing at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15, to receive comments on an ordinance to delete and replace in its entirety Chapter 170 of city code relating to subdivision and land use. Eastern Sussex Democrats to gather
The Eastern Sussex Democratic Club will meet at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, at the Greene Turtle in Five Points, Lewes. Chris Bason, executive director of the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays, will discuss the status of the Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission’s decision on the buffer zones ordinance. RD20 Democratic Committee to meet
The Delaware 20th Representative District Democratic Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, via Zoom.
Claire Snyder-Hall, Common Cause Delaware executive director, will discuss bills now before the 151st Delaware General Assembly including HB 75, the constitutional amendment that would eliminate barriers to no-excuse absentee voting in the Delaware Constitution, an action Common Cause is supporting.

Georgetown Oyster Eat set Feb. 25
Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company will host the 85th annual Oyster Eat at 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25. Last year’s event was converted to a drive-through format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but with mask restrictions lifted as of Feb. 11, this year’s event will go on as planned. Lewes Shrimp Feast canceled
The annual Shrimp Feast at Lewes Fire Department’s Nassau station has been canceled. The department is planning to host a golf tournament at The Rookery later this year as well as a concert and auction. Details will be released at a later date.
Airport advisory group to meet Feb. 23
