Civic coalition to host Lewes mayoral candidates’ forum May 3

April 20, 2022

The Greater Lewes Civic Coalition, continuing a 47-year tradition, will host a candidates’ forum at 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, for the three candidates running for mayor, with the participants and attendees meeting in person at the Lewes Public Library, and Zoom attendance also available.

The event will give voters in the Saturday, May 14 election an opportunity to hear from the candidates and ask them questions.

Three citizens are running for a three-year term as mayor: incumbent Theodore Becker; challenger Richard Moore; and challenger and city council member Andrew Williams.
To register to attend by Zoom, go to tinyurl.com/GLCCForum2022.

To vote May 14, individuals must be registered with the City of Lewes, not just the State of Delaware. Voter registration is open until 4:30 p.m., Friday, April 29.  Any person who is over 18, is a U.S. citizen and whose primary residence is in the city is eligible to register. Anyone who has voted in either of the past two contested elections, 2020 and 2021, should still be registered to vote.

City of Lewes residents who are not registered to vote or wish to request an absentee ballot may do so in person at city hall or electronically at ci.lewes.de.us/273/Election-Information.
