Parkinson’s group monthly meetings in Ocean View begin May 18

Exercise classes resume May 19

The Parkinson’s Education and Support Group of Sussex County will resume holding meetings in Ocean View at 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, at the CHEER Coastal Leisure Center, 30637 Cedar Neck Road. Group members will facilitate a monthly support group meeting for people with Parkinson’s disease, their family and friends, and community members interested in learning more about Parkinson’s disease. Meetings will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month.

A weekly exercise program will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Thursdays, beginning May 19. Both seated and standing exercises are included for all abilities. Classes will be led by individuals specifically trained to treat people with Parkinson’s and other movement disorders.

Those interested in participating in the support group meetings and exercise classes do not have to be CHEER members.

The Parkinson’s Education and Support Group of Sussex County is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in Delaware. The group provides educational seminars, a variety of exercise classes, and several support group settings where members share ideas and seek solutions to issues they may be facing.
