One of the dirty little secrets of wind energy is that wind turbines kill eagles and other birds. This was proven in a recent court decision where an energy company pled guilty to killing at least 150 eagles with their equipment as reported by Associated Press: https://bit.ly/3kZWuWo.
We live on the Atlantic Flyway, with multiple wildlife preserves including a large bald eagle nesting area at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge near Cambridge, Md. If these bird-shredding machines were positioned on land, as they are in the western United States, people would be appalled at the plethora of dead birds rotting in the open air or being dragged off by predators. The green energy advocates and Orsted want to hide this slaughter far offshore in federal waters where the only witness to the carnage will likely be the occasional fishing boat.
Please protect our beautiful avian population, which includes protected and endangered species. Oppose all attempts to put wind turbines off the coast of Delaware and Maryland. Put a stop to this blood red energy masquerading as green energy.
