Daily Dharma: Hakini Mudra
Need help thinking clearly and concentrating? The Hakini mudra powers the brain to help these thought processes and connects you with the divinity within.
When you join the tips of the five fingers of the right hand, with those of the left, it forms the Hakini. This mudra is helpful in balancing the right and left sides of the brain; it also benefits the “third” eye, and the lungs.
How to form the Hakini Mudara: Place all finger tips from the right hand on the corresponding fingertips from the left. Hold this position while gently breathing in and out for at least 5 minutes, if you can hold for a longer period of time you may see more beneficial results. This position can be held when you need help concentrating, to bring awareness during meditation or if you need help remembering something.
A Mudra is a gesture or position, usually of the hands, that locks and guides energy flow and reflexes to the brain. By curling, crossing, stretching and touching the fingers and hands, we can talk to the body and mind as each area of the hand reflexes to a certain part of the mind or body.
