Bayhealth is expanding to meet the local demands for top-notch heart and vascular care in central and southern Delaware.
The Bayhealth Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgical Associates practice recently welcomed vascular surgeon Carl Barosso, MD. He will be based in Milford and operate at Bayhealth Hospital Sussex Campus. Barosso is now accepting new patients.
Barosso joins a talented Bayhealth team that includes Chief Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Gary Szydlowsk, cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Daniel Marelli, and thoracic and vascular surgeon Dr. Paul Fedalen; physician assistants Jeffrey Cirks, Todd Brandt, Alexandra Kwan and Rebekah Bernat; and family nurse practitioner Cara M. O'Reilly.
Barosso brings more than 25 years of surgical expertise to Bayhealth. He has worked as a heart, vascular and thoracic surgeon for private medical practices and health systems across the country.
After earning his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, Barosso went on to pursue multiple surgical residencies. He completed a residency in general surgery at Cabrini Medical Center in New York City; a residency in vascular surgery at Baylor University in Houston, Texas; and a residency in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill.
