Dewey Claus Crawl kicks off July 16

Christmas-themed event at Highway One establishments benefits Winter Wonderfest
July 14, 2022

Grab your Santa hats from the attic and head to the Dewey Claus Crawl Saturday, July 16, for a host of holiday-themed parties and live music to support Winter Wonderfest.

Find your way onto Santa’s nice list by attending the 12-hour party held at five Highway One establishments, where 100% of all merchandise sales will benefit the Winter Wonderfest Community Grant Fund to support Sussex County nonprofits.

Tickets are not required to participate. Each guest will be given a free Claus Crawl Passport, available at the door of each location, to be stamped at each stop.

Shirts and other swag items will also be available for purchase, said Winter Wonderfest Executive Producer Peter Briccotto, who noted that a portion of that morning’s Santa Sprint 5K will also go toward the cause.

Guests who attend all five parties can turn in their completed passports or show their shirts to be entered in the grand-prize drawing set for 12:55 a.m. Attendees must be present to win.

The crawl kicks off at noon at Northbeach, where partygoers can fortify themselves for the day’s activities with a free Blitzen’s Brunch buffet and DJ Andrew Hugh.

At 2 p.m., head to the Surfin’ Santa Deck Party at the Rusty Rudder for a free nacho bar, photo booth and live music. Also happening at 2 p.m. is Ralphie’s Revenge, a party inspired by the movie “A Christmas Story,” where visitors can enjoy free cookies and more live music at Jimmy’s Grille.

At 5 p.m., the party continues at the Jingle Jam at the Bottle & Cork, featuring Go Go Gadjet and Love Seed Mama Jump. No cover for those wearing Claus Crawl shirts or tanks.

Partygoers can take a break – or nap – before heading out again at 10 p.m., for the snow party held at both the Rusty Rudder and Northbeach for free giveaways and the raffle drawing.
