AIDS Walk Delaware steps off at Grove Park

September 27, 2022

AIDS Delaware and the Delaware HIV Consortium presented the annual AIDS Walk Delaware Sept. 17 at Grove Park in Rehoboth and Brandywine Park in Wilmington.

This year’s theme was Step Up, Step Out: Remove Stigma, Eliminate HIV, Improve Lives. The walk strives to advance HIV awareness, reduce stigma and endorse HIV-informed community health for all Delawareans.

Currently, there are 3,791 people living with HIV in Delaware.

The walk is the state’s oldest and largest HIV/AIDS fundraising and awareness event. This year’s event organizers hope to raise $100,000 in support of free HIV testing, education and prevention programs; case management services; HIV-specific mental health counseling; and housing services.
