Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland

The Fall Festival season is winding down for another year but not before we have a few more great events to tell you about as we head into this first weekend of November.

We hope everyone had the chance to visit Rehoboth Beach last week for another fantastic Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddlers Festival, which is always the highlight of the fall in the "Nation's Summer Capital."

Moving on to this week, our list of featured events is highlighted by the annual Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival, as well as several more great happenings throughout the region.

Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival (November 7-13)

This festival founded by the Rehoboth Beach Film Society has become one of the most popular in the region in recent years and is held over a week every fall in the Lewes area.

The festival showcases several of the best independent films, including documentaries, dramas, international films and more.

The event is held at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes and at the Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware on Route 9.

Delaware Resorts 55+ Expo (November 5)

This annual event is scheduled for Saturday, November 5, at Cape Henlopen High School and will focus on residents age 55 and above.

Exhibitors include medical services, home health care agencies, physical fitness programs, residential communities and home service companies. 

Beebe Medical Center representatives will also be on site providing health screening and evaluations. For more information, call 302-236-0857.

Proceeds from the 2022 Delaware Resorts 55+ Expo will be used to benefit the work being done at Meals on Wheels.

Native American Day (November 5)

This event is held at the Nanticoke Indian Museum in Oak Orchard and is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday, November 5.

Activities for the day include museum tours, dance performances, Native American singing, story telling, vendors and traditional food options.

Admission to this event is free so plan on spending a couple of hours this Saturday in Oak Orchard.
