Home Expo fills Rehoboth Convention Center
About 50 vendors crowded Rehoboth Beach Convention Center this year, drawing as many as 2,300 homeowners to the 15th annual Home Expo.
Founder Bob Benson said he began the expo to help people find homes, land and services for their properties at the beach.
Most recently, Benson said he has noticed a trend toward energy services, but the expo remains an opportunity for specialty services to reach their market at the beach.
"There are more alternative energy exhibits this year," he said. "But it has been trending that way for the last several years, toward energy saving devices."
Screen Mobile Owner Blake McGrath said his company provides mobile screening for consumers, making full replacements only a phone call away, saving homeowners the time and energy of a trip to the hardware store and a weekend spent to install screens at their beach house.
"Primarily our mission statement is to be solution oriented," McGrath said. "We provide productions that solve a homeowner's problems."
The latest innovation in the industry is retractable screening, he said.
"Retractable screens are the most exciting part of the screening business," he said. "It provides and opprutinty for a customer to have a screen and also preserve the asthetic qualities of the door. Its a good combination of form and function."
