This time next week I will officially become a member of the Milton Town Council. I am excited to serve the people of Milton as one of their elected representatives, a job that I am honored and humbled to accept. Before I am sworn into office Monday, April 3, I wanted to take a moment to reflect and thank some people who helped me along the way.
Mayor John Collier and former mayors Ted Kanakos and Jack Hudson for offering guidance over the past two months while preparing to take office. Your experience has been invaluable to a political newcomer, and I appreciate all the assistance that you have provided.
Councilmen Larry Savage and Fred Harvey and Councilwomen Lee Revis-Plank, Annette Babich and Randi Meredith, for their warm welcome and kind offers to speak about the issues most important to them. We have a diverse group of people, not just demographically, but opinions. Each one brings something different to the table and I look forward to our discussions over the next three years.
To outgoing Councilman Rich Baty, I congratulate him on the conclusion of his two terms in office and his upcoming retirement from the town council. Thank you for your service to our town.
Town Manager Kristy Rogers and her staff at town hall for providing me all the materials needed to be successful on Day 1 and answering any questions that might arise from those items.
The people of Milton. While there was not an election this year, many people encouraged me to run over the last nine months and offered support for my campaign. They are too numerous to name individually, but please know your support has meant the world to me. I promise to work hard every day on your behalf.
Finally, I wish to thank my wife, Melisa, our infant son, Scotty Jr., and all my family, friends and neighbors. Without their support and encouragement, none of this would have been possible.
Now the work begins! Please feel free to always reach out to me to discuss anything that is important to you!
