Stop reserving seats at The Bandstand

July 28, 2023

When are Rehoboth officials going to stop people from reserving the seats at the Bandstand for the weekend concerts? Occasionally we go there maybe an hour or so before the shows begin and we find nothing but towels and blankets reserving seats, sometimes taking up whole rows at a time. This is totally unacceptable, and I can see a potential for some serious fights or confrontations.  It is different if someone is reserving a seat for someone who went to use the bathroom or to get a drink or something, but not putting down towels or blankets and leaving. I like the shows there as much as anyone, but if we go there and I find a whole row of seats reserved with towels and blankets, I will be tempted to move them aside and sit down to enjoy the show. I ask Rehoboth officials to please do something about this, as I see a potential for a very serious problem, with some getting hurt or worse.
