The person who advocated for riding a bicycle around town to the Freeman Highway bridge to avoid the Savannah Road canal bridge obviously has never cycled on the Freeman Highway bridge. It's huge and difficult to cross. It's also distant (by bike) from the canal bridge. People with families on bikes would have a hard (or impossible) time following that suggestion. Bikes are a great way to see Lewes, and any improvement that helps bikers, especially families with children, contributes greatly to the town's desirability as a tourist destination. We need to be bike-friendly. That means bike lanes to the beach.
