Unlike many locals, I approve of wind turbine farms to provide a clean source of electric power. Even though I know we as a country need to find non-polluting sources of power, I have two issues with the wind turbines proposed off Delaware's coast.
1. The power generated should benefit the communities that will have to view the wind turbines off their coasts. The power generated should go to Delaware residents, not to Maryland citizens. If Maryland wants to benefit from wind turbines, those turbines should be built off the shore of Maryland coasts and not off-shore of Delaware coasts.
2. The companies that build the wind turbines of course should make a profit, but the power generated should also save money for property owners in the onshore communities that utilize the power generated. End user electric bills should not rise because of an investment in offshore wind turbines.
